The tournament started in 1979 and is always held during Ascension weekend. The tournament is organized by Högsbo Basket with the help of other basketball clubs in the Gothenburg area. Last year more that 550 teams participated in the tournament which had nearly 1500 matches.

Intersport Youth Basketball Festival is one of the greatest European youth basketball tournaments.This large-scaled sports event is being organized for youth teams from about 10-20 countries of the world. Last year 450 teams participated in the tournament.
